“Devotion is much more than reading a material to set the tone for the day, it’s about submission – the part of you that inhibits your growth and the part of you that is committed to growth and change.”

Devotionals

When God has given you a dream, it is important to document it.

How many times do you find yourself dreaming about an interest or wanting to dive head first into your curiosity? Is it simply a thought or is it a dream God has given you? Does it overwhelm you and you have simply set aside the idea of following through with what God has laid on your heart to do? To be frank, I’ve done this many times but I’ve come to the realization when God has given me a dream it is emperative for me to write them down. When you write your dreams down, this open the door for God to build them into a vision. Dreams are the first step in walking into your God’s given plan for your life, and from this dream, your vision (the architect) emerges. Inability or failure to write down your dream can result in delaying the vision or never pursuing it at all.

When God has given you a dream, it will appear to be impossible but there is a reason for this.

Let me start by confirming when God has given you a dream, it means He has already made a way for it to become a reality but He requires your full commitment. To commit to a dream God has given you requires faith. Without faith, it is impossible to please God [Hebrews 11:6], and faith without works is dead. [James 2:17]. Faith in God means trusting in Him and doing what is required to activate His plans for your life. We walk by faith, not by sight. Faith is taking baby steps, being sensitive to the spirit of God which requires trust. God is asking us to trust His plan for our lives. Remember, it is God who gave us the dream, which means the vision also comes from Him. You are the vessel and everything you need from God is found in HIM. God purposely gives us visions that seem impossible so that we can seek Him for the direction we need.

TIMING

Faith without works is dead…

There was a time in my life where I found my dreams overwhelming. God continuously reminded me through dreams that His plans were true but I found myself being overwhelmed by them. Little by little, I began being faithful to the “little” things which became the stepping stone to bigger things. I learned that God is relying upon us to be faithful, and this requires us to walk by faith. If we don’t activate faith in our lives, we will cause our dreams to remain dormant and in some case, they will die.

Your journey may include others but staying in your lane is specific to your destiny.

Distraction is a great deterrent from the dreams God has given us. We can easily compare ourselves to others by being the greatest self-critic but when God has given you a dream, He has given you the dream. He will show you the vision and how to properly develop and execute it. What God has for someone else is for them, their timing and their path to accomplishing their dream is uniquely designed for them. Please note, even if it does not seem possibly God knows what He’s doing. I am often encouraged by one of my favorite scriptures, God’s plans are to prosper us and not harm us, to give us hope and a future [Jeremiah 29:11]. Stay in your lane, seek first the kingdom and all His righteousness and all these things will be added unto you. [Matthew 6:33]. Nonetheless, be obedient, for through obedience your dreams will be manifest into your reality.
