CHRIST IS THE TRUTH

Where do I even begin? This statement alone speaks volume to who Christ is but also a ladder for our lives, which should be built on truth.  For many years I experienced identity confusion, which had me bouncing back and forth from truth to lies, even when I knew the truth deep down.  Think about it, so many people are living this back-and-forth banter of confusion in their minds and are not able to simply hold on to the truth.  As I write this, I am thinking of an unstable foundation or a boat in a storm being thrust back and forth by heavy and aggressive waves commanding the sea.

Why?  Let’s dig deeper.

We all are aware of what truth is, even when we refuse to obey it.  Can you blame us? No, not everyone can handle the truth when it’s not in their favor or on their side, and so, in our sinful nature and rebellious attitude, we simply reject the truth.  On the other hand, there are those who knew the truth but struggled to honor it, thus, bouncing back and forth to between truth and lies.  Finally, there are those people who believe the truth and stick by the truth no matter what even when it is not in their favor.  Why do you think this is?  Well, it all goes back to Christ.

“Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.’” [John 14:6].  Read that again.  Christ is the way, the truth and the life.  He is the truth, meaning, in Him is all the answers we are looking for is found in Him, they’re not opinions, they’re facts.  The hidden treasures are found in Him, all things are found in Him and they are indeed truth.  Where Christ is, there is no back and forth banter of confusion but clarity rooted in truth.  The way?  The way is our direction in life, our path to our creator and everything God has destined for us to do comes through the power of Christ when we accept Him in our lives.  We will no longer walk blinded by what is around us but we are able to see as Christ leads us to our destiny.  Life? We will no longer operate like zombies taking up space but being dead to sin and condemnation and functioning as spiritual beings in purpose and in life.  No one can reach and connect to God without first going through Christ and acknowledging Him as their personal Lord and Savior.

Having identified this, Christ then need to be our foundation.  He is a solid foundation for us to grow from.  Think of Christ as nutrients to our souls and blood to our veins that nourishes us and push out poison and contamination from our system.  Christ being the truth means we are able to recognize the truth and accept truth in our lives completely, rejecting confusion and a back-and-forth banter driven by, you guess, confusion.

“And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” [John 8;32].
